Your organization's plan (Padawan, Sensei, etc.) comes with a free monthly quota of meeting room and boardroom hours and CREATE invitations. On top of that, you can buy credits. Here's how HAL 2 decides which one to use.
The rule: quota first, then credits
When you book a room or send a CREATE invitation as Organization, HAL 2 always uses your organization's free quota first. Once the quota for the month is used up, or if your plan doesn't include one, HAL 2 uses the credits your organization has already bought.
You don't have to choose. HAL 2 does it for you and shows it before you confirm:
- "Included in your plan – No extra credits will be used." The free quota covers this booking or invitation.
- "Additional credits required" The quota is used up and you don't have enough credits. A link lets you buy the credits you're missing.
Who can use the free quota?
| Role | Organization's free quota | Personal credits |
|---|---|---|
| Admin | ✅ | ✅ |
| Organizer | ✅ | ✅ |
| Member | ❌ | ✅ |
Members can't use the organization's quota. If you're a Member, you can:
- Ask your team. An Admin or Organizer can make the booking or send the invitation using the quota.
- Use your own credits. Under Book as or Invite as, select Personal.
Need access to the quota? Only an Admin can change your role, in Settings → Members. See Understanding Roles in HAL 2.
Tracking your quota and credits
- Organization quota: go to Settings → [your organization] → Billing → Overview to see how much of this month's quota your team has used.
- Credits and invoices: go to Settings → Billing → Credits / Usage / Invoices.
Good to know about credits
- Credits are valid for 1 year from the purchase date.
- Credit purchases are final and non-refundable.
- Your plan's quota comes from your status in HAL 1 (Padawan, Sensei…). A status change can take up to 72 business hours to show in HAL 2. See Understanding the Sync Between HAL 1 and HAL 2.
